Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems is excited to announce the launch of its new 250V SNAPConnect Tamper-Resistant Single Receptacle in response to demand from distributors, engineers, and contractors.
These devices were designed in response to the changes made to the 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC) requiring 250V receptacles to be tamper resistant everywhere 125V tamper-resistant are mandated. Featuring Hubbell’s best-in-class tamper-resistant shutters, inserting a plug is as easy as plugging into a standard receptacle – even with historically problematic plugs.
For improved safety, the 250V SNAPConnect Tamper-Resistant Single Receptacle is keyed and molded in black to prevent confusion and mis-mating with 125V devices.
Time and labor savings add up quickly with these receptacles which install three minutes faster than conventional devices. Modular wiring eliminates screw terminals and further improves installation efficiency. An impact-resistant nylon face and base ensure long-lasting reliability even in heavy-use applications.
The 250V SNAPConnect Tamper-Resistant Single Receptacle is designed to connect power to commercial packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) units often seen in hotels and motels, schools, dorms, childcare facilities, medical and dental offices, and waiting rooms.
“This product has long been requested by customers and we’re thrilled to offer it,” says Mike Zimmel, product manager for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “The devices are available in our standard colors with solid and stranded pigtail connectors”
